The most inspiring aspect of being a business owner is the community connections and customer relationships I get to make! The catalyst for me to open my business was my personal love of plants and the environment! There’s so much satisfaction in watching plant life grow and thrive!
What is a struggle you overcame?
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE F0R BETTIES WHO MAY BE GOING THROUGH A SIMILAR SITUATION?
There will always be doubters, don’t listen to them! There have been times along my business journey when I got discouraged because I didn’t get approval from everyone. The only approval you need is your own, root down, and rise up!
what is one way you enjoy taking care of yourself outside of your business?
Yoga is the best self care for me, both mentally and physically. I can take an hour, roll out my mat, and focus on just me! This is such an important part of running a business…you can’t pour from an empty watering can!
How do you currently help the local community?
Mrs. Fancy Plants is partnered with One Tree Planted to promote reforestation. For each plant sold, we will donate to One Tree Planted to plant a tree in Colorado! Outside of Mrs. Fancy Plants, I’ve been a disaster response volunteer with the American Red Cross for 14 years. I now serve as the Mass Care Lead for the Mile High Chapter.
what's a gift you would recommend from your shop?
I would probably recommend a gift card! There are so many plant babies in my shop and a gift card gives the opportunity to choose whatever you like!
